Walid Ramadan
Walid joined IPA (Influence Public Affairs) in 2023, bringing with him a wealth of experience gained from his tenure as a seasoned economic diplomat. With a distinguished career spanning three continents and a robust network that extends across over 40 countries, Walid specializes in economic diplomacy, international public policy, trade facilitation, and FDI promotion. His particular focus lies in driving impactful public affairs initiatives in Egypt and the region.
Prior to joining IPA, Walid held notable positions including Commercial Counselor in Spain twice, as well as serving in the Emirates as a commercial Attache. Additionally, he served as Deputy Director for Policies and Strategies in the Ministry of Trade and Industry 2017-2019. These roles have equipped him with a profound understanding of navigating complex policy landscapes and fostering strategic partnerships at both national and international levels.
In the public sector, Walid's notable achievements include successfully initiating and executing transformative technology transfer projects from Europe to Egypt, particularly in enhancing food security and advancing agricultural initiatives. Additionally, his pivotal role in managing the allocation of a 300 million euros financial protocol between Egypt and Spain, coupled with his contributions to bilateral and multilateral crisis management, especially in the energy sector, highlight his adeptness in navigating complex geopolitical landscapes.
In the private sector, Walid has led significant advancements in electrical interconnection project between Africa and Europe through Egyptian territories, notably as Country Director for Egypt. His role in the Euro-Africa Interconnector project, valued at 3 billion Euros with a capacity of 2000 MW, earned recognition from the involved countries' leadership. Walid holds an MBA from the UK and a degree in Commerce from Cairo University (2007). He is also a licensed regional trade policies expert accredited by the World Trade Organization (2018). Walid has obtained certifications from esteemed international institutions such as CECO (Spain), ICE (Italy), International Trade Centre (Switzerland), and CIPE (USA) in international trade, diplomacy, and public policy. Fluent in both English and Spanish
