Public Dialogue on the Egyptian Investment Law, 2017

CHALLENGE
The negative impact of some articles in the new investment law presented in 2017 on the business community in Egypt.

SOLUTION
IPA A organized a strategic dialogue entitled: “Investment law: Potential Reform or a New Challenge” in cooperation with the Egyptian Credit & Risk Association (ECRA) and with the presence of CEO of General Authority For Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) as a keynote speaker.

A “Recommendation Paper” including a policy brief was developed and submitted to the political authorities – including the Supreme Council for Investment, the Egyptian Cabinet, the Egyptian legislative authority and the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones – to ensure full alignment.
